To facilitate your journey to our monastery, we provide practical information for various types of transportation below. Please consider that the monastery complex itself is a national cultural monument, which involves restrictions designed to protect this heritage site.

Take tram 22 or 23 to the Pohořelec stop, then it's a 5-minute walk. After getting off the tram, continue slightly to the right for about 200 meters to the main entrance gate of the monastery. Another option is to use the entrance through house number 147/8 next to Melvin cafe on Pohořelec Square.
Tram 25 to Malovanka stop, then a 5-minute walk.
Metro and Tram
Metro line A to Malostranská station, then take tram 22 to Pohořelec stop, followed by about a 5-minute walk.
Metro line A to Hradčanská station, then tram 25 to Malovanka stop, followed by a 5-minute walk.
On Foot
From Charles Bridge – about 1.5 km, via Malostranské Square, up Nerudova Street, continuing on Úvoz Street. Continue either to Pohořelec Square and take the staircase that goes through the house at Pohořelec 147/8 next to Melvin cafe. Another option is to turn left on Úvoz Street onto Raoul Wallenberg Promenade and after 100 meters turn right uphill directly to Strahov Courtyard.
From Břevnov Monastery – about 2.5 km, via Bělohorská Street and across Dlabačov.
From Petřín Gardens – about 1.5 km, from the Hospital of the Merciful Sisters of St. Charles Borromeo, via Vlašská Street, walking uphill below the monastery with beautiful views of Prague, then past the Swedish embassy uphill to the monastery gate.
From Petřín Lookout Tower – about 600 m, walking through the monastery gardens downhill past our monastery restaurant Na Pekle. You will arrive directly at the Strahov Monastery courtyard. Attention! Access through the Strahov Gardens is currently closed until 26 July 2026 due to water supply reconstruction works.

Bus 164 from the Praha - Řepy, Petřiny housing estate to the Malovanka stop.
Bus 149 from the direction of Nové Butovice, Jinonice, Klamovka, Podbělohorská, to the Malovanka stop.
Bus 149 from the direction of Dejvická, Vítězné náměstí, Vozovna Střešovice, to the Malovanka stop.
From the Malovanka stop, it's a 5-minute walk.
By Car

Parking within the Strahov Monastery complex courtyard is unfortunately not possible. Parking and access to the complex is available in special cases, which must be discussed in advance. In such cases, please contact a member of our marketing department.
