Blessing of the new house in Magdeburg

Magdeburg is the place where the founder of the Premonstratensian order, St. Norbert, served as archbishop from 1126. He also founded the Monastery of the Virgin Mary there. After his death, his remains were also kept there until they were exhumed in 1626 and transferred to Strahov.

On October 2nd, a new Premonstratensian house was blessed in Magdeburg. Although it is located in a different place than the original monastery founded by St. Norbert, it is a great satisfaction for us that the Premonstratensians have returned to this city. Our Strahov schola was also invited to the blessing ceremony of this house. Photographs from this event were taken by our brother Václav. Thank you.
