The Strahov Monastery is located in Hradčany, near the Pohořelec tram stop. A more detailed description of the route can be found here.

Parking within the Strahov Monastery complex is not permitted. In exceptional cases (for individuals with disabilities), parking arrangements within the complex can be made by contacting the promotions staff.
Due to the fact that the Strahov Monastery is a historical building, it is not fully accessible. However, we are gradually working to make public areas more accessible for people with disabilities. The ground floor areas (Chapter Hall, Summer and Winter Refectory, Romanesque Halls, ground floor restrooms) are easily accessible. The gallery can be accessed by elevator, arranged in advance with a staff member from promotions. Unfortunately, the library has limited access due to a narrow staircase; however, there are plans to install an elevator to these areas in the future.
Accessible restrooms are available in the Strahov courtyard near the entrance to the library and on Pohořelec Square.
The halls of the Strahov Library can also be visited as part of special tours. Such a tour must be booked in advance. Please contact our staff member who handles these arrangements.
On hot days, you can buy water or other non-alcoholic beverages directly from our monastery gift shop, located next to the main gate of the monastery complex.
In our restaurant Na Pekle and during the summer months also at the outdoor garden V ráji, which are located on the way from the courtyard to the Petřín Lookout Tower. The restaurant is located here.
Dogs are welcome in the monastery complex, but they are not allowed on the tour routes or in our restaurant Na Pekle. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
As a group, you can visit the standard tour circuits—either the complete monastery tour or just the Strahov Library. Tickets can be purchased either online or at the monastery's ticket office. If you are interested in a private tour, it must be arranged in advance. For an overview of available tours and contact information for our staff, please visit this link.
Public restrooms can be found directly in the courtyard of the Strahov Monastery, to the right of the entrance to the Strahov Library. If you purchase a ticket for the Combined Tour, the restrooms on the monastery's ground floor are accessible for free.
